Job Summary

The Estimator will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing project plans and specifications for special requirements and conditions in order to produce a complete estimate for assigned projects of small to medium size and intermediate complexity.  

Main Resposibilities

  • Prepare preliminary estimates using best practices for entering bid into HCSS
  • Upload bid items for proper bidding in HCSS
  • Support estimating team by preparing job specific narratives as required for proposals
  • Deliver bid proposal submit in timely manner per owners’ criteria
  • Support admin team on GFE outreach as required
  • Perform detailed takeoff on all area and count items
  • Attend pre-bid meeting as required
  • Collect bid documents for target projects

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Construction Technology or equivalent combination technical training and/or related experience
  • Clean Driving Record

Skills

  • Ability to comprehend project plans and specifications
  • Ability to multitask efficiently and effectively
  • Ability to work independently and as a team
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet short deadlines and process projects quickly
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent computer skills combined with previous knowledge of Heavy Bid, Heavy Job, and JDE Edwards
  • Excellent math skills with the ability to calculate and analyze data
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Experience with JDE Enterprise, Heavy Bid/Heaving Job estimating software
  • Must have the ability to work well with all levels of the organization
  • Must possess a mindset for making continuous improvements of department processes
  • Previous knowledge of construction labor and equipment practices and production
  • Previous knowledge of engineering and space relationship
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
  • Strong tendency to take initiative

Compensation Data

$75,000-$90,000
