Role Purpose

Our contracting business unit is going from strength to strength with recent successes in the Bromsgrove area. As a result of growing demand and client requirements, we are now recruiting a Public Liaison Officer based in Bromsgrove It’s important  you reside within the Worcestershire/ Birmingham area as you will need local knowledge for diversion routes and other communications.

Main Responsibilities

The Public Liaison Officer will lead in communicating our works activities with local stakeholders including local businesses, road users, residents and the wider public whilst upholding the reputation of Colas at all times. They will communicate stakeholder needs to the project manager, acting as the first point of contact for any stakeholder concerns or issues. They will also work with the social value team to deliver engagement with local schools and charities to support the requirements of the Colas social value charter.

 

Skills and Experience

The perfect candidate will be a strong communicator with experience in a similar role and have a positive attitude to working with people to find positive outcomes. We are looking for a strong team player who is able to build strong relationships across the local community and take lead communicating with all of our activities. You will be able to keep accurate records and provide detailed reports on delivery, have the ability to work under pressure and a natural ability to learn new skills.
