Compensation

Salary:  $101,340 to $123,860

Job Summary

Colas ISS, the IT/IS arm of Colas North America plays a critical role in providing advanced solutions and superior support for our business users. As a member of the Functional Support Group, you’ll be part of a strong team of diversely skilled individuals, who pride themselves in their breadth of knowledge, troubleshooting skills and positive attitudes.  You’ll be the voice of Colas IS Support, interacting directly with our internal customers daily.
 
Construction Business Analyst will work with end users across North America to define/refine business process as it relates to our information systems, identify and document user requirements in an effort to continuously improve our existing software applications, interfaces and business intelligence tools, and work with team mates and customers in support them in the day to day use of our systems.

Construction Business Analyst will work with the business to establish, document and refine best practices across Colas North America.  Construction Business Analyst will establish repeatable training programs and tools across functional domains for both administrative and operational users of ISS’s systems.  Construction Business Analyst will conduct scheduled trainings on key functional processes throughout the year, including at season start up to support seasonal hiring.

Main Responsibilities

  • Continuous learning on business applications and processes.  Applicant should be capable of quickly learning new business processes and software applications. 
  • End user support.  The “BA” will work as necessary to provide end user support.  This includes fielding and responding to user service tickets in accordance with our SLA’s.  Applicant should be comfortable managing time between support and other ongoing commitments/projects.
  • Project work.  Applicant should be familiar with and able to work in a fast paced, team-based scrum environment.  The business analyst’s primary role in these projects is to define a user problem, work with the necessary resources to identify a solution, and document the requirements for that solution.  Applicant should be comfortable with documenting requirements and testing for.
  • Maintenance.  The business analyst will work with teammates and vendors to ensure system compliance, health, and uptime in accordance with our customer SLA’s.  Applicant should posses a proactive mindset in this area, constantly looking for ways to make more reliable, efficient, and resilient systems. 

Qualifications

The incumbent will have a strong sense of business acumen and professionalism.  This person must be well organized, and a self-starter.  Ability to quickly learn new concepts, software, and business processes is a must. Must be a team player with the ability to work independently as well.

  • JD Edwards Construction Job Cost and/or Asset/Equipment Management experience
  • Must be able to quickly learn and understand business processes at a detailed level. 
  • Knowledge of construction industry, software, processes, and best practices. Experience with HCSS suite preferred but not required. .
  • Should possess date-driven work ethic. We work in a scrum environment and ability to hit daily deadlines is imperative.
  • Exceptional verbal communication skills for user training, and team interaction.
  • Able to interact with all levels of management and staff, including executive.
  • Must be a self-starter, dependable, innovative, and possess good judgment
  • Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented and have the ability to work with limited supervision in a fast-paced, small-team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize incoming requests made by phone or e-mail

Education and Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree; Information Systems, Construction or Accounting preferred.
