Purpose of the Role

 

The Degree Apprenticeship is a 4-year programme, based in our Rugby depot, designed to give you the skills, knowledge and experience to progress in your career journey to become a Chartered Manager in our Plant business.  

You will become integral to the smooth running of the plant operations and the management teams in all matters associated with managing the plant business.  You will be able to drive so that you can visit our multiple locations across the UK and learn about how we operate so that you understand what we do and why we operate in this way. 

You will have the opportunity to learn at a university and in our business to develop your skills both on and off the job.  By doing this you will work towards becoming a Chartered Manager through the CMI.

What I will be Focused on - Key Responsibilities

You will:

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of our business areas e.g. our machines.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of our contracts and how we make money.
  • Work with different team members to understand the importance of their roles.
  • Work to problem-solve issues and challenges.
  • Build confidence to share your ideas and challenge the norm.
  • Learn about our policies and procedures so that you can manage processes
  • As you will expect the organisation may change from time to time and you will be expected to meet the operational requirements. 
  • Any other reasonable duties as required from time to time. 

About You - Person Specification

  • You will have completed your A-Levels or be completing them in July 2024
  • You will have passed your GCSE’s in English and Maths  
  • You will be able to work independently and in a team using your own initiative
  • You will also be hungry to learn and be motivated to work with others and make your mark on our business

 

       Expected start date for the role is September 2024
