This is a union position

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Supervises and coordinates activities of work crews engaged in digging and other construction duties.

 

TYPICAL DUTIES:

- Supervises labor crews

- Maintain construction site

- Assists in laying asphalt

- Keeps time records

- Makes reports of work progress

- Keeps daily records on all equipment and materials being used by the crew

 

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Worker must be able to:

- Direct and plan an activity

- Attain set limits or standards

- Do simple arithmetic accurately

- Make decisions upon measurable standards

- Supervise others

- Give directions

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Worker must be able to:

- See well (either naturally or with correction)

- Climb and maintain balance

- Stoop, kneel; crouch, and crawl

- Reach for, handle, and manipulate objects

- Lift objects weighing up to 100 pounds or more, with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 100 pounds
