Job Summary
Operation and routine maintenance of the Supply Truck, Trailer and Forklift, under the general direction of the BC Operations Manager and the immediate supervision of the Paint Crew Foreman. General understanding of a paint truck and its operations.
Main Responsibilities
- Operation and Maintenance of Supply Truck, trailer, forklift
- General Operation of a Paint Truck when required
- Prepare pre-trip and post-trip inspection reports
- Maintain TDG Manifests and WHIMIS documentation
- Maintain Commercial Motor Vehicle Operator’s Daily Log
- Organize, coordinate timing and ensure proper documentation of deliveries and pickups
- Load and unload materials and equipment using forklift and loader
- Ensure adequate material supply for crew’s daily schedules
- Operate and carry out routine repairs and preventative maintenance of Supply Truck, Trailer and Forklift
- Physically able to manage empty barrels to the deck by hand
- Inventory of paint, bead and solvent in LRM yard locations
- Able to distribute loads with regards to axle weight limits
- Cleaning and maintenance of all LRM jobsite and related paint depots
- Other related duties as assigned
Skills/Abilities
- Competent grade 12 reading comprehension in order to complete daily required reports and paperwork
- Good communication skills in order to deal with delivery points and arrange for unloading and loading of materials
- Able to follow instructions promptly and efficiently
- Operate a forklift efficiently
- Mechanical and operational aptitudes
- Keep neat and accurate records pertaining to equipment repairs and stock
- Able to travel throughout British Columbia as required
- Good knowledge and understanding of MOT Pavement Marking Manual
- Good knowledge of LRM’s safety programs, policies and procedures particularly as they apply to the operations of a Pavement Marking Crew, their Equipment and the Quality Management System
- Good knowledge of BC Transportation Regulations and National Safety Codes
- Require good mechanical aptitude for air brake adjustment
- Ability to work under pressure while in high and low traffic volumes
- Ability to substitute all crew positions including paint truck operations
Education/Occupational Certification
- Valid BC Driver’s License
- Class 1 Required - Certificate of Training regarding Handling and Transporting of Dangerous Goods
- Hold valid Forklift Operators Certificate
- WHMIS Certificate
- Valid Traffic Control Person Certificate
