Terminal Maintenance Supervisor

Purpose of the role
As Terminal Maintenance Supervisor you will oversee and manage all aspects of the maintenance of the Avonmouth Bitumen Terminal, ensuring full compliance with QHSSE procedures and regulations. You will report to the Terminal Manager and be responsible for the Terminal maintenance. You will utilise the Terminal maintenance system and will carry out a rigorous planned preventative maintenance scheme from which you will carry out the required repairs, supported by site operators, you will also organise and manage all 3rd party contractors to support our maintenance needs.
The Colas Group worldwide own and operate a network of bitumen terminals and fleet of ships, essential to ensuring secure supply of this strategic raw material for our business. Continental Bitumen is a subsidiary of Colas which has invested in a ‘state of the art’ bitumen terminal and blending facility at Avonmouth in the UK.
Main Responsibilities
Main responsibilities include operations management, inventory management, quality control, supplier and customer relationships, team leadership and development. As Terminal Maintenance Supervisor you will ensure the safe and efficient storage and supply of bitumen from the Avonmouth Depot to Continental Bitumen’s customers, be ambassador for Safety, support with loading bitumen into road tankers, ensure full adherence to the Permit to Work scheme at all times and develop good relations with all site personnel including bitumen delivery drivers.
You will communicate, mentor and train your team through inductions, toolbox talks and appropriate briefings and adhere to all relevant legislation and company regulations, with safety being at the forefront.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have mechanical and electrical preventative maintenance experience around pressure systems, pumps and hydraulics and previous leadership skills. Although this role is working days, you may be required to review the night shift maintenance for a few days every 2 months.
You will hold a permanent full UK driving licence, have a knowledge of health and safety and be conscientious, trustworthy, open and reliable.
