Under direct supervision, interns will assist and learn all aspects of horizontal construction by optimizing resources and minimizing costs.

 

Responsibilities

- Support the Sully-Miller safety culture by ensuring company strategic initiatives are meet by safety, environmental performance, and efficiency

- Ensure continual compliance with, OSHA and EPA regulations

- Attending pre-bid meetings and bid openings

- Supports the planning and estimating stage of projects to ensure the most efficient, safe and economical form system are incorporated into the project design.

- Works closely with the project team monitoring the safety, cost and scheduling of construction projects 

- Effectively manage the work environment to ensure safety, environmental, regulatory and production targets are met

- Assists the project team in establishing the sequential steps involved in all processes with the scope of the project, and adapts schedules and work tasks accordingly. 

- Develops and maintains customer relationships to enhance company’s ability to procure projects, reduce risk, and ensure operational efficiency

 

Qualifications and Skills Required

- Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program such as Civil, Construction Management, or related filed

- Previous construction or intern experience preferred

- Basic math skills with ability to calculate and analyze data

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Good organizational skills

- A tendency to take the initiative

- The ability to work well with all levels of the organization

- A mindset for making continuous improvements of department processes

- Stand, walk, and reach with arms and hands

- Climb, balance, stoop, kneel and crouch

- See well (either naturally or with correction)
