Purpose of the Role

The Operations Project Worker will be based in our Grantham location with an outstanding operational team. You will work within the Machine applied Micro Asphalt crew to assist in the laying of Micro Asphalt to road surfaces and drive a HGV to get to your location. You will ensure the works are completed on time and within budget to work in a manner that is in line with our health and safety policy.  You will safely carry our road repairs and improvements using the Micro Asphalt process and apply safe methods of working through the use of personal protective equipment, correct manual handling and use of small plant equipment such as Rollers. 

Main Responsibilities

The Operations Project Worker will abide by the Health and Safety at Work Act, Road Traffic Act and apply safe method of working to all road surfacing activities. You will ensure the cleanliness of tools and construction sites when working on road surfacing projects and represent Colas in a professional manner. As Operations Project Worker is road surfacing, you will also be required to prepare your tools and materials, understand and follow procedures relating to COSHH regulations, understand and follow procedures relating to Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome regulations and drive a HGV vehicle within the confines of The Road Traffic Act.

 

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be available to work away from home on a one weekend on one off basis with no bank holiday working. You must also have a current driving licence and LGV 2 or LGV 1 licence, CSCS Card, NRSWA, Manual handling and Safe Dig - CAT & Genny.
