To ensure the overall success of any job or project assigned through efficient management of time, personnel and cost.The position requires considerable driving to sites and will require evening and weekend work.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  1. Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all federal, state, local and company safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
  2. Assign and supervise daily activities of milling personnel;
  3. Coordinate and schedule trucks and equipment to job site;
  4. Contact asphalt plant to schedule delivery of material;
  5. Prepare and maintain required reports;
  6. Conduct weekly tailgate safety meetings and enforce all safety policies and procedures;
  7. Prepare accident reports, make preliminary assessment of damages, and arrange for necessary repairs;
  8. Interview, select, train, discipline and terminate employees as needed
  9. Review, verify and submit crew time sheets to payroll (submit through heavy jobs)
  10. Perform all other duties deemed necessary or assigned.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  1. Minimum of 5+ years related skills, knowledge or experience
  2. High School diploma - preferred
  3. Valid drivers license with a clean record
  4. Excellent communication and organizational skills
  5. Must be able to work with 300 degree - asphalt material
  6. Knowledge of materials, methods and tools involved in highway and road construction and asphalt paving
  7. Basic computer knowledge
  8. Basic record keeping and office procedures

  • Standing  40 % of time
  • Walking   20% of time
  • Sitting   5% of time
  • Driving   10% of time
  • Stooping  2.5% of time
  • Climbing  5% of time
  • Reaching  5% of time
  • Kneeling  2.5% of time
  • Carrying   up to 50 lbs. 5 % of time
  • Lifting    up to 50 lbs. 5 % of time
