Purpose of the Role

As an Operative you will be based at our Leigh project, where we work on 95% of the UK’s commercial, private and military airfields offering specialist services, relating to maintaining or providing Airfield pavements and small civil engineering projects. We provide a wide range of specialist maintenance, which varies from Minor repair with specialist products, deep saw cutting, joint sealing, replacement of concrete pavement, replacement of asphalt pavement and Lighting. We will invest in multi skilled training for this Operative role and provide development opportunities into a team leader. In return, we asked for a flexible approach to working on night shifts and weekends and general labouring skills.

 

Main Responsibilities

As an Operative, you will ensure all jobs have the appropriate job sheets, method statements and other documentation and arrange necessary tools/equipment/materials/consumables for the job, including appropriate task specific PPE. The Operatives reports to the Site Management, ensuring any site inductions are undertaken prior to works commencing.

Ideal Candidate

We value experience as much as qualifications, however, it is essential the following are held as a minimum: Driving Licence and CSCS card. 

Specialist sawing, drilling and concrete cutting techniques is a definite advantage but not essential if you have general Labouring skills or experience working within a civils environment.
