Role Details

Colas JV are currently recruiting for Vehicle Restraint Systems (VRS) inspectors assistant / maintenance operative to join the team on a contract for Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII). The role will involve assisting the VRS inspector in his daily survey activities, the carrying out of traffic management tasks, locating utilities, vegetation clearance, excavations, concrete works, maintenance / repair of VRS systems, and install of new VRS systems. The works will involve working on and near live roads on the National Primary and National Secondary roads. The location of the works will be in the Southern region of Ireland which consists of counties Kerry, Cork, Waterford Tipperary, Kilkenny, Carlow, Laois and Offaly. The VRS Crew depot is located in Mallow, Co Cork

Qualifications and Skills Requirement

Education / Training Requirements Essential

  • Full B, C1E Driving Licence
  • Solas Safe pass
  • Solas CSCS – 360 Excavator
    Desirable:
  • Solas CSCS Signing Lighting Guarding (SLG, 3-day)
  • Solas CSCS Locating Underground Services
  • Solas CSCS Telescopic Handler
  • Solas CSCS Slinger/Signaller
  • Level 3 High Speed Training
  • Lantra NHSS 10b foundation course (green card) (or equivalent National or International Scheme) 2
  • Lantra NHSS 10b installer course (blue card) (or equivalent National or International Scheme). A significant amount of training specific to the role is provided and a willingness to learn and to develop in order to gain qualifications required to carry out the duties involved is essential
