Purpose of the role
Colas Ltd have an exciting opportunity for a Site Agent to join the team on a 16 month FTC based in Rothbury Terrace, Heaton, Newcastle, NE6 5DE. Safe & Efficient delivery of all secured works ensuring management of Key Client expectations and ongoing liaison of all works, whilst ensuring the compliance with all Quality procedures and safe working practices undertaking all works to the highest possible Health, Safety and environmental standards, whilst safeguarding the wellbeing of all employees.
Main Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Site Agent to oversee the safe and efficient delivery of projects. As a Site Agent, you will be responsible for managing the financial performance of contracts, ensuring work is completed to budget, and maintaining strong client relationships through regular meetings and site visits, ensure all site records and timesheets are checked and signed and issued within required timescales, ensure thorough management of all labour, plant, materials and subcontractors allowing planning, order placement and availability when required, assistance with the development and updating of regular activity programmes for all contract responsibilities in accordance with client requirement, assist and uphold discipline within the business always ensuring company compliance. Your primary duties will include ensuring the safety and welfare of all operatives, conducting safety observations, and delivering toolbox talks. You will manage site safety by ensuring compliance with method statements, risk assessments, and all CDM regulations, while promoting a culture of safety and adherence to company procedures. You will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of projects, particularly in Winter Maintenance Operations and Structures and Maintenance operations.
In addition, as a Site Agent you will be responsible for supervising subcontractors, ensuring proper induction and training for all personnel, and maintaining accurate site records and timesheets. Strong commercial and contractual awareness, along with the ability to manage both site and office duties effectively, will be essential.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have a relevant ONC/HNC/HND qualification in Construction or Civil Engineering, along with at least 3 years of experience in a similar role. You should possess a high level of expertise in highway construction and maintenance, including experience in Winter Maintenance Operations and Structures and Maintenance operations. Key qualifications include a CSCS Professionally Qualified card, SMSTS/IOSH (Safety Related Qualification), and a full clean driving license. Strong knowledge of business management systems and proficiency in using Microsoft Project to track performance is also essential. Package Description
