We are currently looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our Finance team at the Terus head office located in Surrey, British Columbia.  The incumbent will be reporting to the Accounts Payable Supervisor and working directly with head office and the operations team.


Key Responsibilities


Accounts Payable Clerk

  • All payables for Terus Construction including trades/suppliers, subcontractors, expenses, trucking, fuel statements, utilities, etc.
  • Scanning, tagging and routing of invoices coming in by mail/email
  • Reviews coding of invoices according to JDE coding structure
  • Coordinate and manage invoice approval procedure
  • All vendor matching of invoices to purchase orders, and receiving slips
  • Assist with reconciliation of all vendor Statements on a quarterly basis
  • Respond and look into Vendor Inquiries
  • Assist with collection of stat decs and insurance compliance met with Subcontractors and labour suppliers
  • Provide coverage to the Accounts Payable Supervisor for vacation relief
  • Liaise with operations and purchasing on invoicing (voucher) issues


Purchase Order

  • Validate PO balances against invoices.
  • Liaise with Purchasing and match against invoices.
  • Reception relief during lunch hours and short term absences.
  • Other projects as assigned by Corporate and Operations Controllers



  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Clear and effective communication skills.
  • Experience with JDE accounting software an asset.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role in construction or manufacturing industry.
  • Able to work well in a fast paced, collaborative and team-based environment.
