HERS Coordinator

Purpose of the role
Colas Ltd is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HERS Coordinator to join our Area 9 Maintenance & Response contract team, supporting operations on behalf of National Highways. This role plays a key role in ensuring compliance with HERS (Highways Electrical Registration Scheme) accreditation for both our Technology and Electrical teams.
Main Responsibilities
In this role, the HERS Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining and managing the HERS database to ensure all records are accurate and up to date. You will coordinate with the Learning & Development team to arrange relevant training courses and ensure that periodic reviews and assessments are completed in line with HERS requirements. Working closely with HERS Qualified Supervisors, you will support ongoing compliance across both the Technology and Electrical teams. Additionally, you will prepare reports and documentation as needed, assist with administrative task management, and ensure health and safety standards are upheld at all times. You’ll also be expected to identify potential innovations and improvements in maintenance delivery, proactively sharing these with the management team. This role requires a proactive, organised individual who can support continuous improvement while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance. Ensure all activities are undertaken with due regard for the environment, to prevent pollution, comply with legal and corporate requirements and minimise environmental impact.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have previous experience within a similar coordinator / administrative role. If you have any knowledge and best practice relating to national Highways Motorway and trunk road communications and electrical systems would be advantageous. You will have the ability and passion to learn and keep up to date with changes in highways technology and electrical standards and required statutory legislation.
You will be self-motivated, well organised, have a good attention to detail and it is essential that you are proficient in using MS Offices such as Excel and Word. A full UK driving licence due to the location of the base depot. Full training will be provided for understanding the HERS accreditation.
Package Description

- A salary between £24,000 and £27,000
