SUMMARY & OVERVIEW

Reeves Construction Company has an immediate opening for an Alternative Delivery Pursuit Manager in our growing Design Build Group. You will be part of our rapidly growing Design Build Department, which includes project pursuits throughout the Southeast US.

As a Pursuit Manager, you will manage procurement process on design-build infrastructure pursuits and projects. The Pursuit Manager will be responsible for administering, assisting and managing design and construction plans to meet project financial, schedule, and construction objectives, consistent with Reeves’ company standards and objectives.

 
LOCATION
This position is based out of our Duncan, SC location and typically requires some periodic travel across the Southeast United States.

 

 

Main Responsibilities

 

RESPONSIBILITIES  (Include, but not limited to the following):

  • Consolidate best practices from project execution 
  • Leading pursuit of design-build projects
  • Lead team design engineers and sub-consultants for design build projects
  • Identify design-build opportunities and develop win strategy for capture
  • Interface and maintain relationships with external design and contracting partners
  • Manage deliverables, quality and compliancy
  • Interface with other Colas partners
  • Interface with construction project leadership (Db coordinators and others) 
  • Controls cost of the design and all engineering services
  • Manages quantities and constructability throughout the design process.
  • Has the flexibility to work within multiple design disciplines
  • Monitors and reports progress against design schedule
  • Partners with design discipline lead and construction estimator/superintendent to meet project objectives
  • Mentor junior staff with technical and professional development
  • Design quality management plan champion for the design team
  • Develop project budgets, schedules and staffing plans for pursuits and final design projects
     

 

Required Qualifications, Skills & Competencies

 

  • Ability to travel as needed (up to 50%)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related degree
  • 15+ years' experience with focus on Design-Build Management
  • Prior work experience on managing transportation projects valuing $100M+
  • 10 or more years of managing an engineering and design team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done
