Global Data Privacy Statement
Data privacy statement
The entities of the Colas Group attach the highest importance to the protection of your personal data and are committed to ensuring compliance with regulations applicable to them in respect of the protection of personal data and, in particular, in Europe, the General Data Protection Regulation (2016/679) of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (‘GDPR’).
The purpose of the following statement is to inform you about the processing of your personal data (hereinafter “PD”) collected to access and use the recruitment portal in your capacity as a candidate for job offers proposed by the COLAS Group’s entities concerned or as part of an unsolicited application.
1. Data controller of your Personal Data
The data controller is the legal entity (‘the Entity’) of the Colas Group which recruits and which is responsible for determining the means and purposes of the processing of DP implemented for the job offer to which you apply.
The name and registered office address of the Entity appear on the job offer to which you are applying.
2. Categories of Personal Data we collect and process
PD is any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. The PD collected and processed as part of the recruitment process are:
- The professional information included in the CV
- Career path in the Colas Group
- Previous professional experience
- Training
- Mobility
- Full name
- Phone number
- E-mail address
- Country of residence
- Home address (not mandatory)
- Any information that you wish to communicate or that will be gathered from your answers during the recruitment process, in particular during interviews.
3. Purpose of processing your Personal Data
The processing carried out by the Entity's human resources department as part of the recruitment process consists of managing applications for positions offered by the Entity as well as unsolicited applications.
The purposes are as follows:
- Allow you, as a potential candidate, to create an account and complete in your profile;
- To enable you, as a candidate, to apply for a job vacancy published by an Entity or as an unsolicited application;
- To review applications and candidates to be evaluated;
- Enabling recruiters to manage your applications: sending and storing your CV and application details, scheduling discussions with recruiters, job interviews, etc;
- To allow you, as a candidate, with your consent (tick box) and according to your preferences described below (and listed in the section ‘Make my profile visible’) to join a database such as a ‘candidate pool’ or ‘CV library’ of COLAS candidates;
- Allow you to subscribe to the posting of other similar COLAS job offers.
4. Who can access your Personal Data?
Your PD will first be used by the Entity's administrative and hiring departments.
Your PD may also be accessible to our IT service providers, strictly within the framework of their application management and maintenance missions and for this purpose only.
When you create your account on the recruitment portal, you will be able to choose the level of accessibility of your PD from the following 3 options:
- Option 1: Only recruiters handling the job offers I have applied for (Entity recruiters can only see your profile when they are responsible for the job offer(s) you have applied for and will not be able to contact you for other job offers).
- Option 2: Only recruiters who handle job offers for another COLAS Entity located in your country of residence (COLAS Group recruiters who handle job offers located in the country you have chosen as your current country of residence can potentially see your profile and contact you for other job offers), once you have consented to this option.
- Option 3: All recruiters handling job offers for all COLAS Entities worldwide (by choosing this option, I understand that my data may be transferred to all countries in which Colas Group’s Entities are located, including countries outside the European Economic Area).
You will be able to change this consent yourself at any time by changing the option regarding the diffusion of your profile. This can be accessed in your profile settings on the COLAS recruitment portal.
If you choose option 3 and the Entity to which you apply is subject to the GDPR, this processing implies a transfer of PD to other Entities located outside the European Economic Area.
The countries in which these Entities are located may have different privacy protection regulations to those of the European Economic Area (see HERE) or your country of residence.
5. On what legal grounds is your personal data processed?
Your PD is collected by the Entity on the following legal grounds:
- The legitimate interest of rationalizing recruitment procedures with regard to the creation of an account/profile to facilitate the processing of your application, in accordance with your interests and rights.
- The execution of pre-contractual measures when you apply for a job offer published by an Entity or send an unsolicited application, for the handling of your applications by recruiters (transmission and storage of your CV and application documents, organization of exchanges with recruiters, job interviews, etc.), the review of applications and the rating of candidates.
- Your specific consent to allow you to join a CV library and, if you choose option 3 above, to allow us to transfer your data outside your country of residence, to give you the opportunity to be contacted about job vacancies according to your choice of accessibility and to subscribe you to the publication of other COLAS job vacancies.
6. Retention of your PD
- If your job application is unsuccessful.
The PD processed as part of your application is retained for a period of one (1) year from the date of the last change to your application or its rejection.
One (1) month before the end of this period, you will be offered the opportunity to retain your PD for a reasonable period and for a maximum of one (1) year, in order to keep you informed of potential job opportunities that might interesting for you. To do this, you will be invited to log back into your profile.
If you do not want us to keep your data or if you do not reply, your data will be destroyed.
2. If your application is successful, your data will be automatically transferred to the COLAS Group's employee integration tool, for the purposes of establishing the employment contract and handling personnel administration, under the conditions described in the employee personal data protection policy, which will be communicated to you beforehand.
7. Your rights
In compliance with current regulations on the protection of personal data, you have the right of access, rectification or erasure of your personal data. You also have the right to object, restriction, and data portability. If you reside in France, you have the right to define directives concerning the fate of your Personal Data after your death.
Some of these rights are subject to restrictions. These restrictions and details of how to exercise your rights are available on the Jobs at COLAS website (colasjobs.com).
