•    Determine method of construction to be used, and accurately estimate required labor, equipment and materials to construct project
•    Develop estimate using HCSS HeavyBid software
•    Prepare technical bid proposal for submittal 
•    Review and incorporate historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, and productivity analysis reports into unit and man-hour figure
•    Attend pre-bid meetings and participate in agency clarification and/or requirements as necessary to put together a comprehensive proposal
•    Set-up job budgets, information sheet, subcontracts and purchase orders
•    Study project proposal specifications, job site, and drawings to determine scope of work
•    Take-off and calculate quantities
•    Track awarded contracts as required including customer service, negotiations, change orders, and progress/final billings
•    Other duties as assigned


•    Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Technology or an equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience
•    Minimum of 5 years’ experience in estimating cost controls and/or engineering related experience

•    Ability to comprehend project plans and specifications
•    Ability to multitask efficiently and effectively
•    Ability to work independently and as a team
•    Ability to work under pressure and meet short deadlines and process projects quickly
•    Excellent attention to detail
•    Excellent math skills with the ability to calculate and analyze data
•    Excellent organizational skills
•    Excellent verbal and written communication
•    Knowledge of engineering and space relationship
•    Must rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
•    Proficient in Word, Excel, JD Edwards, HCSS HeavyBid/HeavyJob estimating software
•    Strong tendency to take initiative
