Summary:

Our plant support personnel play an essential role in daily plant operations - they are the "eyes and ears" on the ground, helping to ensure the plant is running efficiently in order to meet production goals to supply material to our asphalt paving crews.  Individuals in this role have the opportunity to assists in all areas of plant operations, including plant maintenance, equipment operation, and general housekeeping.  This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in a fast-paced role with opportunity for growth!

Responsibilities:

•    Support the Simon safety culture and other Company strategic initiatives
•    Safety operate vehicles, equipment, and tools required to perform assigned tasks 
•    Assist with minor maintenance and repair of plant vehicles and equipment
•    Maintains clean, safe, and organized working areas
•    Works closely with plant operators, equipment operators, and others in completion of assigned tasks
•    Engages in multiple forms of physical labor necessary for completion of plant production operations

 

Qualifications, Education, Skills and Experience: 

•    High school diploma or equivalent preferred
•    At least one year of experience working in an aggregate or asphalt production operation or similar industry preferred
•    Valid drivers’ license with ability to maintain a clean driving history required

 

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: 

•    Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
•    Regularly required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
•    Regularly required to use hands to manipulate objects
•    Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear) 
•    Frequently required to stand for long periods and walk across uneven terrain
•    Frequently required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl 
•    Regularly required to stand/work on feet for long periods, and walk across uneven terrain
•    Frequent exposure to loud noise 
•    Regularly exposed to working from high, precarious places and risk of electrical shock
•    Mining environment; regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, airborne particles, fuel/chemicals, loud noise, moving equipment/parts, and vibration
