Summary:

Operates an industrial Telebelt truck used to move and place aggregate materials used in construction projects.

 

Position will initially be assigned to work on a current I-80 paving project estimated for completion in July 2022; following completion of project, position will be reassigned to a new project, and/or different type of heavy equipment operator role.

Responsibilities:

•    Support the Simon safety culture and other Company strategic initiatives
•    Observe safety procedures, report potentially unsafe conditions, and use equipment and materials properly
•    Operate trucks and heavy equipment, including but not limited to a Telebelt used in completion of construction projects 
•    Operate other tools and equipment as required for assigned tasks
•    Perform minor equipment maintenance tasks, including but not limited to as greasing and checking oil and fluids
•    Assist in all areas of the project as needed, including manual/physical tasks
•    Drive company vehicles to worksites and company locations when authorized

 

Qualifications, Education, Skills and Experience: 
•    High school diploma or equivalent preferred
•    Minimum of 1-2 years of related experience and/or training in operation of heavy equipment; prior experience operating a Telebelt, concrete pump truck, or similar equipment preferred
•    Valid Commercial Drivers’ License (CDL) and ability to maintain a clean driving history 
•    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, & procedure manuals

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

•    Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
•    Regularly required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
•    Regularly required to use hands to move and manipulate objects
•    Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear) 
•    Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl 
•    Standing/working on feet for long periods, and walking across uneven terrain
•    Regularly required to work from a seated position operating equipment for long periods
•    Frequent exposure to loud noise 
•    Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration
•    Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles
•    Regularly exposed to fuel, oil, and other chemicals
•    Occasionally exposed to working from high, precarious places and risk of electrical shock
