MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

TYPICAL DUTIES:

•    Audit and manage plant quality and productivity
•    Coordinate inventory with the sales department on external and internal sales
•    Plan, organize, and direct daily work schedules of plant crew
•    Monitor and approve time cards and invoices (purchase orders)
•    Assist in hiring and training of new employees in compliance with Company policy and MSHA.
•    Prepare daily, weekly, monthly and annual reports as required
•    Monitor and manage equipment utilization
•    Solve problems associated with employees and products  
•    Implement and lead a best-in-class safety and environmental compliance programs 
•    Accurately forecast production requirements and react quickly to changes in market conditions in order to ensure customer satisfaction 
•    Manage and coordinate on-site contractors, sub-contractors and vendors
•    Interact with local, state, and federal agencies to address concerns
•    Direct, coach and develop all personal while ensuring company policy compliance 
•    Ensure plant has all needed documentation to ensure compliance with MSHA, state, local, federal and company requirements  
•    Actively participate in operations and capital budgeting 
•    Manage plant and project costs to ensure budgets are met 
•    Track, monitor and adjust production and downtime on a daily basis in order to meet monthly goals 

SKILLS

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE EDUCATION & SKILLS REQUIRED:


•    4 year engineering degree or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience 
•    Minimum 8 years plant management and/or craft supervision experience
•    Excellent communication, organizational and supervisory skills essential
•    Knowledge of office systems including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook 
•    Strong mechanical aptitude 
•    Experience trouble shooting and resolving equipment and production quality concerns
•    Experience with MSHA, OSHA and CalOSHA regulations and requirements
•    Proven track record with customer service 
•    Previous experience with dredge operations preferred but not required 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


•    Talk and hear, use hands and fingers and be able to reach with hands and arms 
•    Stand, climb, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, balance and stoop
•    Good vision (either naturally or with correction) 
•    Able to walk on uneven surfaces
•    Must be able to drive Company vehicle, have a valid California driver’s license as well as a good driving record
