3-5 years mobile equipment operational experience on excavator-size 374 caterpiller  

Must be able to operate machine with little or no supervision 

Must understand all of your controls and have experience with various types of equipment accessories/blades/attachments  

Must be able to read grade stakes and carry a grade 

Use bucket scales to optimize truck loading 

Preferred knowledge of GPS 

Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive company vehicle 

Understands MSHA and OSHA regulations 

Must have a strong, team oriented work ethic with strong focus on safety and environmental compliance 

Ability to understand and follow Company Handbook and Safety Policies 

Ability to work well with others 

Must have a strong mechanical aptitude 

Must be able to follow oral and written plans and directions 

For Excavators- be able to set and load trucks efficiently to optimize production and be able of utilizing rock breaker and/or processor attachments  

For Dozers- Must be able to carry a flat grade and adapt to fluctuating terrain including steep slopes. Be able to finish slopes with a slope board. 

For RTD- Must be able to carry, cut and fill grade as needed and re-grade stakes. Must be able to coordinate and import trucks for proper placement on fill. 

For Loaders- Must be able to minimize overloading of customer’s trucks and remaining complaint with DOT weight restrictions 


Inspect equipment prior to shift for safety, environmental and maintenance defects  

Complete Daily pre/ post equipment inspections - report as needed  

Maintain adequate cleanliness of equipment 

Report any defects to shop, foreman and management  

Inspect wear items on equipment & report as needed to shop, foreman, and management 

Ensure areas under your scope of responsibility remain in environmental compliance and complete any needed environmental reports  

Load hoppers and trucks with limited spillage 

Monitor ground conditions in area you are operating 

Perform housekeeping (clean, shovel, remove trash and debris) to ensure a safe, clean and complaint operation   

Ensure fill is placed in accordance with Fill Operating Plan (FOP) and regulatory guidelines 

Ensure site remains compliant with all MSHA, OSHA and EPA standards 

Other duties as outlined by Aggregate Manager/Reclamation Superintendent
