Ensures the production and maintenance of the quarry with an objective of operational excellence while respecting quality, health, safety and the environment. 

Main Responsibilities

  • Controls the exploitation of the deposit: supervises the discovery, extraction and transport to the installation (mucking), the carrying out of blasting, etc.

  • Manages production and stocks: optimizes stocks, draws up schedules, controls the production process in relation to QHSE instructions and objectives, manages customer loading,  ensures that quarry has sufficient levels of inventory to meet demand and is staffed appropriately

  • Contributes to the management of the quarry's production costs: participates in the definition of the annual budget and respects the determined budget, undertakes expenditure

  • Ensures reporting: daily reports, productivity ratios, expense tracking, etc.

  • Organizes maintenance: mediates the priorities

  • Ensures relations with suppliers and subcontractors

  • Ensures societal acceptance of the quarry: is in contact with local residents and associations, is responsible for compliance with the environmental obligations of authorisations (permits, decrees, etc.)

  • Participates in site redevelopment projects: participates in the study and coordinates restoration work

  • Manages his/her team: leads, supervises, trains, checks the staff, manages the external staff, etc.


  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and at least 2-3 years of experience

  • Specific quarry manager training
