Main Responsibilites
TYPICAL DUTIES:
Examines and diagnoses problems, and repairs according to generally accepted methods. Discusses extensive or difficult in depth repairs with Foreman and/or Site Manager.
Performs routine scheduled maintenance as outlined by the Foreman and/or the Site Manager
Removes components for repair or replacement such as, but not limited to; motors, gearboxes, pulleys, bearings, rollers, conveyor belts, v-belts, pumps, screens, crushers etc.
Disassembles components, inspects parts for wear, and determines cause of failure.
Troubleshoots and repairs hydraulic systems, and components.
Inspects and replaces parts such as crusher liners, screen media, etc.
Overhauls or rebuilds serviceable components
Performs major welding and cutting -- must pass a welding/cutting test (certification strongly preferred).
Replaces and or repairs chute liners/wear plate, able to fabricate steel in or out of the field for proper fit.
Recommends parts for repair
Perform post repair verification/start up
Will perform clean-up as necessary to keep tools, equipment, and working areas clean, orderly, and safe.
Other duties as assigned by the Foreman and/or Site Manager
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
5 years minimum experience or similar industry experienced preferred
Must have knowledge of welding material, welding properties, and various type of metals
Must have welding experience
Must be able to perform bracing, welding, arc-welding and cutting tasks
Must know how to use tools required for the job
Must be able to change crusher liners without guidance of the Foreman and/or Site Manager
Must be able to independently complete major mechanical tasks associated with aggregate business including replacing screen bearings and mechanically repairs to crushers
Must be able to make independent judgments on the care of the equipment and perform the necessary task to solve the issue
Must be able to weld, horizontal, vertical, and overhead
Current or previous welder certification strongly preferred
Ability to use necessary tools
Must understand all of your controls and have experience with various types of equipment including man lifts, fork lifts, telehandlers, scissor lifts, etc.
Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive company vehicle
Thoroughly understands MSHA and CALOSHA regulations
Must have a strong work ethic and be team oriented with strong focus on safety and environmental compliance
Ability to understand and follow Company Handbook and Safety Policies
Ability to work well with others
Must have a strong mechanical aptitude
Must be able to follow oral and written plans and directions
