SIMON | Bin Truck Driver - Rapid City, SD

Summary

Drives trucks with capacity up to and exceeding 20 tons to transport finished materials from the crusher to their respective stockpiles. 

Responsibilities

• Support the Simon safety culture and other Company strategic initiatives
• Work in accordance with MSHA standards and regulations
• Perform pre-shift safety inspections on truck to assure a safe vehicle
• Document any maintenance that may be required
• Self-load and unload materials in truck bed
• Assist with crusher machinery repairs and maintenance

Qualifications, Education, Skills and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Valid drivers’ license with ability to maintain a clean driving history required
• Class A CDL preferred, but not required
• Prior experience in machinery operation on an MSHA regulated site a plus
• Prior experience in mining and/or manufacturing a plus

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

• Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
• Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
• Regularly required to use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel
• Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear) 
• Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl 
• Standing/working on feet for long periods, and walking across uneven terrain
• Frequent exposure to loud noise 
• Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles
• Regularly exposed to fuel, oil, and other chemicals
