HRI, Inc, a leader in heavy civil construction since 1947, has an opening for an energetic individual looking to complete an Engineering Internship for the summer of 2022. We are looking for a highly skilled individual that will be a great asset to our team. HRI is part of a global construction leader, Colas, and is a great place to build a career!


As an intern, you will perform a variety of engineering tasks, supporting various project managers and collaborating with team members. You will receive both on-the-job and formal training as well as mentorship, and exposure to plan production, project financials, and client interactions. You should be a motivated team player who can maintain efficiency and accuracy when multitasking.


Through our internship, we hope to offer a rewarding experience for the candidate, which will help add real world experience to their resume, as well as provide a fresh outlook and feedback on our current practices and processes.  To be a strong candidate for an internship, you should have an understanding of engineering principles and concepts. You should be collaborative, trustworthy, receptive to feedback, eager to learn, and have a positive attitude.


 Intern Responsibilities, but not limited to:


  • Shadowing members of the management team 
  • Assisting with research, filing, data entry, and recording and maintaining accurate and complete financial records
  • Handling sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity
  • Learning how to work as part of the region team to compile and analyze data, track information, and support the company
  • Taking on additional tasks or projects to learn more about operations
  • Comparing item cost to estimations from bids- understand if we are losing or gaining money
  • Engineering layout
  • Assist in developing a project schedule
  • Subcontractor coordination
