After high school, Jean spent two years as a worker in the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, & Air Conditioning) engineering sector before going back to school in marketing, while at the same time working as an apprentice in the family construction company. Then came 3 years of business school, including a six-month internship in Sweden, and a year’s apprenticeship at Renault’s technical center in Paris. For Jean, the construction sector was the place to be. In 2012, he joined Colas, gaining experience throughout France and discovering the world of profit center accounting. In October 2014, Jean was offered the opportunity for international mobility within the Group. Five months later he was on a plane to Gabon. There, he worked as an assistant to the financial controller, with a team of 20 people. His job involved administrative and financial management, setting up the Group’s accounting software, budgets, litigation, etc. And with the recent signing of a major contract to repave a 7-km section of Route 1 in Libreville, Jean added another string to his bow: project administration and accounting. “My time in Gabon has helped me grow personally and professionally. Working abroad teaches you a lot. It’s a veritable treasure trove of experiences.”
 

Recruited as Director of Accounting in 2004, today Nancy manages a team of six people, as Assistant Vice-President Accounting at Colas Canada. As the company grows, she has risen through the ranks and is now in charge of consolidating the company's accounts across Canada, handling tax issues, and preparing financial statements. Rigor and method are essential qualities in her job: “Working with figures requires thoroughness and precision. And that's exactly what I like! I love the rational, precise side of accounting. I’m really lucky to have found a job that suits me so well". Although she works out of the head office, Nancy's assignments involve supervising the company's accounting activity across Canada. She is in regular contact with the subsidiaries in the field, which gives her a very comprehensive overview of the company. After almost 17 years at Colas Canada, Nancy is now turning to another aspect of her career: transfer of know-how. By supporting new recruits, she is sharing her experience with her colleagues and is proud of her career. “For many years, I was the only woman at this level of responsibility, but I always felt I belonged here. ".
 

“I joined Colas in 2007, after graduating from business school and spending a year working in a management audit job in New Caledonia. Over the next seven years, I gained useful experience in accounting and profit center administrative management for Colas in southern France.” François joined the LP2 project in February 2014 as financial controller. To oversee the spending commitments and ensure the accuracy of the accounts, François, who is more used to working in a profit center, has had to really embrace this extraordinary project and all that comes with it in terms of human and material resources.“My first experience on a project of this size and a great challenge!”
