Senior HVAC Engineer

Job Summary

A Senior HVAC Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and oversight of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems within various building and infrastructure projects. This role involves collaborating with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure that HVAC systems meet project specifications, energy efficiency standards, and regulatory requirements.

Main Duties and Responsibility

• Variation Requests: Identify any deviations from established standards and codes, and notify the manager promptly.

• Data Management: Collect and track input data relevant to the coordination team, ensuring a thorough review of these inputs.

• Documentation Support: Produce, update, and optimize design documentation specific to the individual's responsibilities, ensuring all documents align with project requirements.

• Design Compliance: Guarantee that the design adheres to applicable standards and codes, meets client requirements, and considers budgetary and schedule constraints.

• Data Production: Until final as-built documents are completed and the Final Taking Over (FTO) is signed, generate necessary data for the coordination, procurement, and construction teams.

• Follow-Up: Monitor the design process until final approval is received from the client or consultant.

• Technical Feedback: Provide insights in response to technical comments from clients or consultants in accordance with relevant standards and codes.

• Meetings Participation: Engage in internal and external meetings to present and advocate for design solutions.

• As-Built Drawings: Capable of producing as-built drawings as necessary.

• Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT): Participate in FAT related to the designed equipment.

• Quality Control: Actively participate in quality control processes under QHSE supervision.

• Site Inspection: Conduct site visits to ensure installation complies with project specifications and drawings.

• Material and Test Inspection: Inspect supplier documentation, perform quality assessments on materials, and participate in testing and commissioning activities.

• Technical Documentation: Support the creation and optimization of technical and functional specifications, calculation notes, simulations, diagrams, and detailed drawings for various equipment types.

• Configuration Control: Contribute to maintaining configuration control over equipment.

• Client Requirement Analysis: Analyze and track client requirements, ensuring the design remains compliant and suggesting innovative solutions when necessary.

• Risk Reporting: Report progress, variations, and technical issues to the manager, and raise alerts for any identified risks related to schedules, designs, or equipment.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

• 6-9 years in HVAC Design.
• Excellent knowledge in REVIT & AutoCAD.
• Attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and able to relate to business context and capability development and network agenda;
• Excellent interpersonal and customer facing skills;
• Deals comfortably with extremely confidential and sensitive information

Education Background

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
