This is a Union Position

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Directs people and various types of vehicles to avoid crashes and keep traffic moving efficiently.

 

TYPICAL DUTIES:

- Ensures traffic safety

- Monitor street traffic

- Draw up plans for traffic management during construction jobs

- Notifies the appropriate personnel of any hazardous conditions

 Inspects road cuts
- Schedule maintenance

- Works in compliance with the city to keep facilities, drivers and pedestrians safe

 

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Worker must be able to:

- Be organized

- Communicate both written and verbally

- Work independently

- Solve problems

- Work well in groups
