About the role

The Miller Group is seeking a highly organized, driven, and task-oriented Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to support our Atlantic operations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys completing tasks with precision, and is passionate about applying HR best practices to support business success.

As an HRBP, you will be a trusted advisor to operational leaders and employees, delivering hands-on support across talent management, employee relations, and corporate governance. You’ll play a key role in building a high-performing, engaged workforce while ensuring compliance and consistency in HR processes.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Management

  • Understand divisional workforce plans and ensure job postings align with business needs
  • Coordinate interviews, negotiate offers, and manage onboarding documentation via HRIS
  • Evaluate candidates using competency-based frameworks
  • Lead in-person HR orientations for seasonal and regular hires
  • Plan and execute onboarding activities including Day 1, Week 1, and probationary reviews
  • Support managers through the 30-60-90-day probationary period
  • Coach employees on career paths and competency maps within Miller
  • Implement performance management programs for salaried and key hourly roles
  • Identify and track training needs based on performance gaps


Labour & Employee Relations

  • Act as the first point of contact for HR inquiries (policies, payroll, benefits, etc.)
  • Partner with operations to drive engagement survey participation and follow-up
  • Ensure compliance with Miller policies and best practices during investigations and disciplinary actions
  • Educate and coach employees and managers on workplace rights and responsibilities
  • Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive work environment


Corporate Governance

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Colas and Miller Group policies and Code of Ethics
  • Provide guidance on policy interpretation and application

Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in Business Administration or Human Resources
  • CHRP designation or candidate status
  • 5+ years of HR experience, including 3+ years in a generalist or HRBP role
  • Strong knowledge of employment standards, labour relations, and human rights legislation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems
  • Ability to build rapport and influence across all levels of the organization
  • Experience in both structured and matrixed environments
  • High energy, resilience, and a strong work ethic
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
