Purpose of the Role

The IT Support Team Leader is responsible for providing day-to-day support for the company’s IT systems and its users, as well as leading the First Line Support team. The position includes regular UK-wide site visits to support team operations and ensure IT services run smoothly across multiple locations.

Main Responsibilities

As IT Support Team Leader, you will lead the First Line Technical Support team at Colas UK ITSS, ensuring a high-quality support service and prompt response to all queries. You will oversee all technical issues, serve as the key escalation point, and triage matters before escalating to the second line support team.You will act as the single point of contact for VIP user escalations and provide additional Service Desk cover as needed. Collaboration with the Technical Support Manager is integral, enabling seamless escalation and resolution of support calls between the first and second line teams. You will make use of Analytics and AI tools to help enhance service delivery and workflow efficiency.Other responsibilities include assisting with service-related investigations for Colas UK ITSS, supporting Business Continuity Testing, and managing Mobile Roaming requests. You will back up the first line team on IT orders and daily operations, as well as handling technical incidents.You are also expected to proactively communicate cyber awareness and IT service related updates, including both planned and unplanned outages.

Ownership and maintenance of support procedures and policies are key responsibilities.This role involves regular interaction with Colas Ltd and Colas Rail VIPs, internal and external customers, client IT teams, and third-party suppliers and partners, all within a collaborative and supportive team environment.

 

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have proven technical experience in a technical support role with experience in supporting on premise and, cloud and SAAS based IT systems.

You will be a team player with a flexible and dynamic approach to solving problems and designing solutions. You will be experienced with asset management and call logging systems with a knowledge on the ITIL framework, Office 365 tools such as Teams and creation of PowerBi reports would also be advantageous.
