Job Details

Midland Asphalt Materials Inc., a subsidiary of Barrett Industries Corporation, provides advanced pavement preservation solutions for our customers’ needs. We are currently looking for an Administrative Assistant for our Construction Operations team working out of our Bloomsburg, PA officeUnder the direction and supervision of the Senior Estimator, this person compiles and records data of construction projects to prepare records and reports on construction progress, consumption of raw material, quality control, contract compliance, and other aspects of construction by performing the following duties below.

Primary Duties

  • Compiles and inputs construction production data from such documents as change orders, stone tickets, product specifications, and project production sheets.
  • Calculates types and quantities of items materials used in construction jobs.
  • Maintains vendor and project databases by communicating with project management, monitoring project progress, comparing to contract terms, and administering contract terms.
  • Data Entry in order to prepare statements, receipts, correspondence and anything else as required.
  • Answers incoming telephone calls and directing them as necessary
  • Manages a file system and maintains contract and project files.
  • Responsible for the inventory and ordering of office supplies
  • Manages the filing, faxing, copying, mailings etc.
  • Assists the Senior Estimator in the securing and preparing of bid and contract documents including subcontract forms, bonds, insurance certificates, pre-construction meetings, project schedule, contractor information sheets, safety documents, testing orders, etc.
  • Performs other duties as requested by the Senior Estimator and other members of the Operations team

Experience & Physical Qualifications

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Possess excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Must be able to work and thrive in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to multi-task and pay attention to details
  • Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms
  • Occasional travel with overnight stays away from home may be required
