Job Summary

 

The Human Resources Coordinator will use their analytical abilities to fulfill any and all tasks related to Human Resources including compliance, benefit administration, leave of absence processes, while acting as a liaison between management and the field.

Main Responsibilities

 

  • Act as a liaison for field/plant contacts to ensure understanding and compliance with company benefits, HR policies, and regulations
  • Work alongside Management to complete compliance procedures, including but not limited to shift change letters, local hires, Section 3, Skilled and Trained Workforce and DAS 140-142s
  • Ensure employees are being dispatched by communication with union halls and Management
  • Manage the DOT maintenance in Applicant Insight, including but not limited to scheduling random drug test, uploading driving files/paperwork and monitoring MVR’s
  • Acts as secondary initiator in the completion of manual updates including but not limited to, pay increase, apprentice updates, terminations, W-4 changes, direct deposit updates, etc.
  • Track all leave of absences for all employees union and non-union
  • Assist in recruitment efforts for the Company for vacant non-union positions
  • Acts as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all databases utilized by the Company such as JDE, Colas Way, UNUM, Benefits Path, etc.
  • Oversees and assists in onboarding
  • Participate in Company benefits administration and annual open enrollment
  • Coordinate company engagement events
  • Other duties as assigned

Education

 

  • 3-5 years’ experience in Human Resources
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or similar degree (preferred)

Skills

 

  • Ability to conduct meetings and/or speak in front of groups of people
  • Proficient in Microsoft products
  • Previous experience with HRIS systems, preferably JD Edwards and Success Factors
  • Proficient knowledge of HR principles, policies, practices and regulations
  • Communication and interpersonal skills for clear and effective management
  • Ability to comprehend project plans and specifications
  • Ability to multitask efficiently and effectively and be flexible
  • Ability to prepare detailed, accurate estimates
  • Ability to work independently and as a team
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet short deadlines and process projects quickly
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
