Job Summary

Carries out manual tasks which contribute to the carrying out of the project for their professional specialty (road, pipelines, rail, etc.) in observance of the safety guidelines.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all federal, state, local and company safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task
  • Shovels, tamps and rakes asphalt
  • Pick up traffic control devices
  • Lift, carry and hold construction materials, tools and supplies
  • Mix, pour, and spread concrete, asphalt, gravel and other materials using hand tools
  • Performs a variety of machine tasks such as tapping soil, jack hammering and assisting in the fusing of pipe
  • Perform routine non-machine tasks including removing forms, filling excavations, placing pipe sections in trench and assembling sections of pipe 
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned

  • Lift moderately
  • See well (either naturally or with correction)
