About The Role

The Loader Operator is a full-time, seasonal position responsible for loading asphalt plant feeder bins with aggregate for the production of asphalt for paving crews.

As an Asphalt Plant Loader Operator at Standard General, you will:

• Load plant feeder bins with aggregate for the production of asphalt.
• Assist with stockpiling of aggregate into correct piles to maintain material consistency.
• Work with ground personnel in the maintenance and clean up around the plant site.
• Lift and place equipment/materials during plant maintenance & servicing.
• Be responsible for the safe operation & condition of a rubber tire loader.
• Be responsible for fueling, servicing and inspections of loader at the plant.
• Promptly report any possible problems or defects with loader or plant.
• Ensure all work is conducted in a safe and responsible manner.
• Follow directions of Plant Operator/Supervisor regarding plant operation.
• Ensure that equipment and operations meets OH&S & other legislative requirements.
• Perform work in an outdoor construction site setting.
• Act in a courteous manner in order to project a positive company image.
• Communicate effectively with both SG employees, other site representatives and the public
• Other duties as defined from time to time.

To Be Successful In this Role, You Will Need:

• Driver’s License (Class 5)
• Own transportation

• Ability to operate 980 Cat loader
• Ability to load 400 tonnes of aggregate an hour
• Ability to work at heights (eg. working on a catwalk 85 feet tall)
• Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written
• Must be able to meet all safety requirements and applicable safety policies
• Ability to work overtime as required

• Required to perform tasks that involve heavy lifting, bending and strenuous movements
• Must be able to work outdoors in areas that are dusty or dirty
