About The Role

The Asphalt Labourer is a full-time, seasonal position that supports an asphalt team by performing a variety of physical tasks.

As an Asphalt Labourer at Standard General, you will:

• Work as part of a paving crew raking asphalt, shoveling excess asphalt and sweeping up debris.
• Load, unload, and move construction material around the worksite.
• Operate plate tampers as directed.
• Use shovels and other hand tools.
• Clean up and clear construction sites.
• Other related duties as required.

To Be Successful In this Role, You Will Need:

• Valid driver’s license (Class 5)
• Own transportation
• Ability to work around heavy equipment
• Able to work overtime as required
• Able to perform physically demanding tasks
• Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines
• Ability to work in all weather conditions, in a hot, dusty and noisy environment
• Ability to work as a part of a team and independently
• Reliable and strong work ethic
