Day in the Life

We are looking for someone skilled, driven, hard working, competent and diligent with strong supervisor skills. You will lead and supervises crews on municipal and commercial paving projects across Chatham-Kent and the surrounding area. You will also operate and oversee a range of equipment, including rollers, skid steers, and excavators, coordinating with superintendents and project managers to keep production and scheduling targets on track.

The day begins with organizing safety measures and briefing the crew on the plan, then taking the lead in the preparation and layout of asphalt paving projects, including site setup and material placement. It is essential to ensure manholes and catch basins are set to the correct elevation, grade, and that material is compacted in preparation for paving operations. Throughout the day, you will lead efforts to spread, level, and smooth asphalt surfaces to project specifications, all while promoting and enforcing safety standards to maintain a clean, safe jobsite. Collaboration is essential as you work with team members to complete projects on time and within scope, and may perform general construction duties related to asphalt installation and repair as needed.
