Job Summary:
Supports accounting team with financial records management, data entry, and general accounting functions.
This positon is a temporary assignment with a targeted duration for three (3) months.
Main Responsibilities:
• Embrace the Company’s safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Safety Steering and Continuous Improvement teams
• Support, promote, and practice the Company core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies
• Perform general office and administrative tasks, including but not limited to answering phones, filing, printing, reporting, and emailing
• Assist accounting team with day-to-day accounting duties
• Manage ledgers and ensure accurate financial record keeping across departments
• Receive and process vendor invoices and statements
• Track vendor payments and ensure accuracy of vendor statements
• Assist with general accounts payable and accounts receivable duties
• Contact clients and vendors as necessary to ensure accurate and on-time payments
• Assist with preparation of financial reports
• Use spreadsheets and database tools to assist in financial record keeping
• Assist with preparation and submittal of contracts and bid documents
• Maintain confidentiality of all financial data
• Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to all work to ensure compliance with all standards
• Perform other duties and/or complete special projects as assigned
Education:
• Associates degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field preferred; Bachelor’s degree preferred a plus
• Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain clean driving history
Skills:
• 1-3 years of experience in an accounting, bookkeeping, or finance function preferred
• Proficiency using computer programs, including MS Office products (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook), accounting, payroll, and database software
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Ability to work independently with general direction, and organize work while managing time effectively
• Ability to work under pressure and changing deadlines in an environment of ambiguity
• Ability to work effectively on a team and collaborate on projects
Physical Requirements:
• Most work performed in an office environment, quiet to moderate noise level
• Occasionally required to lift and /or move up to 35 pounds
• Regularly required to use hands to feel, handle and manipulate objects, write, use a keyboard and/or mobile device
• Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear), and perform tasks requiring visual acuity
• Sitting for long periods (up to 8 hours or more) at a desk using a computer with intermittent breaks
• Occasionally required to stand and walk, reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; visiting work sites may require walking over uneven terrain and some exposure to dust, chemicals, and loud noise
• Some travel with overnight stays away from home may be required
