Job Summary:

Under general supervision, the IT Associate Technician is the first point of contact for end users and will provide remote and on-site technical support.  The IT Associate is part of an IT services team responsible for provisioning, installation, configuration, and maintenance of end-user hardware, software, and business applications.

 

A successful candidate will be able to interact with a diverse group of employees at all levels, manage multiple concurrent tasks, and effectively address and manage service requests, incidents, emergencies, and monitor their status through resolution while keeping internal users up to date with status. Term of assignment is anticipated to be 6 months from date of hire with an opportunity for extension based on business need.

Main Responsibilities

•    Embrace the Company’s safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Safety Steering and Continuous Improvement teams
•    Support, promote, and practice the Company core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies 
•    Assist with first line response for users requesting assistance with information technology and related issues
•    Utilize remote assistance tools to assist remote users
•    Install, configure, troubleshoot and repair workstations, smartphones, software, networks and business systems
•    Provide end-user training for specialized software
•    Additional projects as assigned

Education:

•    High School diploma or equivalent
•    College coursework and/or equivalent technical school training in IT discipline
•    Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
•    Industry-relevant certifications such as: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+ highly preferred
•    Valid Driver’s License and clean driving history

Skills:

•    2+ years of experience on an IT Service/Help desk
•    2+ years of experience with Windows 7 & 10
•    2+ years of MS Office Tools experience and troubleshooting skills (Microsoft 365, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
•    Knowledge of basic computer hardware, including desktop PCs, laptops, and networking equipment
•    Experience with basic networking principles
•    Excellent customer service skills and a genuine desire to help people
•    Knowledge and experience with Ticketing/IT Service Management systems a plus
•    Strong sense of urgency and accountability
•    Ability to work independently and collaboratively with limited supervision
•    Ability to explain complex IT concepts in simple terms
•    Well-organized to handle multiple tasks, requests, and assignments

Physical Requirements:

•    Regularly required to use hands to manipulate objects such as paperwork and office tools/equipment
•    Frequently required to sit or stand for long periods working on a computer or equipment
•    Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
•    Frequently required to communicate professionally in-person, over the phone, and via e-mail
•    Occasionally required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
•    Travel (up to 50%) with overnight stays away from home may be required to visit job sites and/or attend meetings 
•    Required to wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety guidelines when visiting job sites
