Responsible for performing truck driving work activities at construction, plant, or other work sites as directed by the Trucking Superintendent/Plant Foreman/Job Site Foreman/Job Site Superintendent.  Job activities include in a wide range of locations to include but not limited to:  asphalt paving operations, bridge/structures work operations, earth work operations, utility work operations, asphalt plant operations, and wastewater/drinking water treatment plant operations.  This work will typically require 40-60 hours (in no case more than permitted by D.O.T. requirements) of work per week, may include night work, shift work, work in the summer months and winter months, and generally when not in the truck it is outside in the elements.  Job may require traveling overnight for periods at a time. Must have state specific CDL license and eligible to drive a commercial motor vehicle by FHWA.















Tasks to be performed but not limited to, include the following:  learn and follow company safety policies and procedures;  check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order; maintain logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations; obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required; check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate; maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned; drive trucks with capacities greater than 3 tons, that may include tractor trailer, low-boy, tri-axle, flatbed, water truck, tack truck, and similar vehicles to transport and deliver products (sand, gravel, aggregate, asphalt, liquids, equipment, or other materials); secure cargo for transport, using ropes, blocks, chain, binders, tarps covers, or load covers; read bills of lading to determine assignment details; report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
