Minimum Qualifications

  • Civil Engineering degree or diploma
  • 3 years of relevant civil estimating industry experience, preferably in Asphalt municipal and DTI related projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with HCSS HeavyBid or similar estimating programs.

Day in the life

Step into the exciting world of construction tendering, where you as an Estimator/Project Coordinator are armed with a strategic mind and a competitive spirit! You will navigate design/build and build-to-spec contracts, deciphering project drawings and specifications like seasoned codebreakers. With a keen eye for detail, you will perform accurate take-offs, concocting detailed estimates from the depths of first principals and cost history, using your estimating software expertise.  You will complete pre-job tasks associated with new projects such as gather documents, issue utility locates, request permits and prepare submission documents.

You will be someone who solicits quotations, battles through peer reviews, and engages in negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors. You will also be attending pre-bid and pre-award meetings, chair post-award gatherings, and ensure smooth project liftoff.

Keeping in close contact with the project managers, you will assist with change orders and maintain excellent relationships with clients, subcontractors, and the public, you will not be limited to being just a numbers’ expert, you're also a construction superhero ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
