Responsibilities
- Provide and complete quality related activities including testing, sampling and reporting of results to asphalt paving projects
- Compaction testing using a nuclear gauge or PQI & material sampling on provincial highway and municipal asphalt paving projects.
- Field troubleshooting related to QC/QA test results.
- QC laboratory asphalt concrete testing (asphalt burns, gradations, MTD & BRD determinations, etc.)
- Reporting QC test results and maintaining records
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to work outdoors
- Travel throughout NS & NB will be required
- Moderate physical ability (lift requirements may exceed 50lbs)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills (Excel, Word & Outlook)
- Preferably 1-2 year experience working in road construction
- Post-secondary education, considered an asset
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision
- Class 5 driver’s license
