Mission

We are looking for an experienced CAD Drafter who will be working under the direction of the Engineering Manager, and the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the project, performing rapid response to drawing requests.
Main Responsibilities
• Completion of basic design drawings, quantity calculations and as-built drawings for various types of work using various software packages (e.g. AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D)
• Collaborating with Designers to ensure accuracy of drawings
• Liaises with designers and field staff to problem solve
• Support the creation of CAD drawings from concept to final design
• Assist in field surveys if necessary
• Establish a working relationship with contractors, field staff and office staff
• Prepare & design alignment, profiles, sections, corridors using AutoCAD Civil3D
• Ensuring plans are in compliance with EVLW standards and drafting requirements
• Preparing pre-engineering, topographic plans if required
• Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
• Minimum of 3 years of AutoCAD drafting experience along with a strong construction drawings background.
• Post-secondary education in Civil Technology diploma is preferred
• Basic understanding of EVLW and municipality standards is considered an asset.
• Experience with highway, rail and other civil structures and Utilities considered an asset
• Ability to read and draft plans.
• Proficient with the use of computers and software, including MS Office (Word, Excel).
• Good understanding of how to read and produce breakdown civil engineering drawings and site plans.
• Excellent verbal, written and communication skills
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Self-motivated, ability to learn new skills, assume new responsibilities and work cooperatively in a team environment
Working Conditions/Physical Effort:
• Able to perform in a fast-paced environment
• Prolonged sedentary positioning
• Walking, lifting, equipment operation, etc.
• Moderate physical activities
• Ability to use stairs, ladders and climb over rough terrain on an in-process construction site when required
• Valid driver’s license, preferably with clean abstract
• Primary work location is the Project site for Marigold Infrastructure Partners
• Ability to negotiate the terrain of an in-process construction site, including climbing stairs and ladders, steep/ slippery terrain, walking, and working outdoors in all types of Edmonton weather and conditions.
