About the Role:
Marigold Infrastructure Partners DBJV is seeking a Construction Field Coordinator Co-Operative Intern to support our Stations Team in constructing two stations on the elevated Guideway for the EVLW LRT. In this role, you will assist with a variety of tasks aimed at ensuring environmental, safety, and design compliance. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic construction environment and learn about multiple aspects of station development. This role offers hands-on experience in construction coordination, safety compliance, and quality management. You will assist in managing site activities, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring adherence to project standards and schedules, while actively promoting high-quality workmanship and compliance with design specifications.

The duties will be varied and will focus on tasks required to meet environmental, safety, and design compliance obligations.

Candidates should be physically able to navigate uneven terrain on an active construction site and demonstrate a willingness to learn and contribute to a major infrastructure project.

Main Responsibilities

Health & Safety: Promote a strong safety culture by participating in toolbox talks, site inspections, and safety meetings. Ensure compliance with MIP’s safety policies and Alberta OHS regulations. 
Quality Assurance: Support inspections and testing to ensure work meets project standards. Assist with interpreting drawings, specifications, and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs). Help identify and resolve deficiencies.
Planning & Coordination: Participate in daily readiness reviews and weekly planning meetings. Coordinate construction activities, inspections, survey needs, and concrete placements. Maintain accurate records for progress tracking.

Operational Tasks: 
•    Complete ParaDIM Daily Log for assigned operations.
•    Coordinate and attend testing and inspections with Construction Field Coordinators, Quality Coordinators, and/or third-party agencies (e.g., concrete surface preparation, rebar inspections, formwork inspections, post-pour inspections).
•    Manage survey needs including layout, grade checks, pre-pour and post-pour as-builts.
•    Coordinate inspection, testing, documentation, and quality checklists as part of ITPs.
•    Schedule and coordinate concrete placements, including pour notifications, pumps, and testers.
•    Participate in Three-Week Look Ahead Meetings and weekly subcontractor progress meetings.
•    Submit PO requisitions for materials and maintain accurate files on SharePoint.
•    Conduct safety inspections and identify safety opportunities (minimum one per week).
•    Collaborate with other MIP teams (Utilities, Civil, Facilities) to manage work interfaces

Required Knowledge and Experience

•    Currently enrolled in a university or technical college diploma in Civil Engineering or CET program
•    Experience in the construction industry is a strong asset
•    Class 5 DL (GDL acceptable)
•    Excellent interpersonal, communication (both oral and written) skills
•    Strong Interpersonal skills in communicating with a large team
•    Organizational and time management skills
•    Ability to prioritize and multi-task/ Service orientated
•    Thrive on a fast-paced environment
•    Adaptable to flexible work schedule when required to meet deadlines
