Mission
The City of Edmonton selected Marigold Infrastructure Partners to design and build the 14-kilometre Valley Line West LRT project from downtown to Lewis Farms. Construction began in 2021. Marigold is a design-build joint venture agreement between Colas and Parsons. We are seeking a talented and experienced MEP Coordinator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will operate under general guidance while taking the initiative to devise and implement effective solutions. With strong time and project management abilities, you will collaborate with a team of professionals to ensure the successful delivery of your assigned scope, prioritizing safety, punctuality, and budget adherence. Must be willing to work on-site.
Main Responsibilities
• Preliminary review of shop drawings
• Turnover planning and ITP development
• Tracking scheduling of major equipment
• Monitoring workflows and follow up with EoR
• Purchasing
• Develop tender packages for line wide equipment
• Work with purchasing through tender cycles
• Assist with tender evaluation
• Manage lifecycle of purchased equipment
• Ensure the Construction is in full compliance with the Project Agreement, including matters relating to quality, safety, environment, and life cycle performance, such as Project’s ECO Plan, Health and Safety Plan, and all applicable legislation.
• Review and understand project schedule. Make suggestions for time savings, logical sequence of work, and alert Segment Manager and other relevant stakeholders if there are any issues that will impact the schedule.
• Coordinates, facilitates and oversees the installation of equipment and components for project to ensure contractors can fulfill all obligations according to approved methods, specifications and schedules.
• Serves as liaison with project management reporting on inspections, subcontracting, progress and delays.
• Participates in project meetings and facilitates regularly-scheduled meetings related to project execution and project deliverables.
• Supports integration of project data such as, but not limited to: schedule, estimate, documentation, cost reports and performance data, etc
• Interprets designs and drawings for technicians.
• Tracks RFIs, site drawings, As-built drawings, and other project documents.
• Proactively identifies and works to resolve any site issues that may impede project delivery.
• Provides technical knowledge and input to assist installing contractors.
• Assigns and plans work, and ensures all relevant parties have the tools to complete their tasks (electronic, scheduled, material, etc.)
• Liaises on all levels of the project.
Skills and Competencies
• Experience in relevant infrastructure (BIM) applications an asset.
• Strong communication skills and ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
• Ability to work in a cost-effective, customer-focused, team-based environment.
• Effective team participation and ability to coordinate work of multiple disciplines on-site.
• Experience using JD Edwards and Aconex. Strong Excel skills. BluBeam
• Excellent follow up and attention to detail.
• Solid understanding of M&E life safety system integration (commissioning).
• Solid understanding of relevant Canadian codes.
• Experience with all types of fire suppression systems, dry & wet sprinklers, dry pre-action, and clean agent
• Proven experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) and understanding of electrical, HVAC, mechanical aspects of a building and how they integrate into the overall design plan.
Profile
• Demonstrated understanding of basic engineering and construction concepts, practices and procedures.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Construction Management or similar field from an accredited institution OR relevant Trade certification and equivalent years of experience performing on a large, heavy, complex public infrastructure project.
• Must be able to work on-site for the duration of the project
• Ability to negotiate the terrain of an in-process construction site, including climbing stairs and ladders, steep/slippery terrain, walking, and working outdoors in all types of Edmonton weather and conditions
