The Overhead Catenary Systems (OSC) Field Coordinator will report directly to the OCS Package Manager to support the installation and execution of project deliverables ensuring we are on time and within budget.
Main Responsibilities
• Ensure the Construction is in full compliance with the Project Agreement, including matters relating to quality, safety, environment, and life cycle performance, such as Project’s ECO Plan, Health and Safety Plan, and all applicable legislation
• Review and understand project schedule
• Serves as a liaison with project management reporting on inspections, subcontracting, progress, and delays
• Participates in project meetings and facilitates regularly scheduled meetings related to execution and deliverables for the project
• Proactively identifies and works to resolve any site issues that may impede the project delivery
• Responsible for implementing and monitoring all OCS related works on site as per the defined scope of work
• Have a strong knowledge of the project agreement (PA), project specifications, approved drawings and control that all work are performed accordingly
• Initiate and monitor Field Change Directive in close relation with site team, package manager and the OCS Engineer of Record (EoR)
• Lookahead planning of material requisitions and other resources as needed
• Monitor with the warehouse manager the OCS preparation works or any works related to OCS installation and performed at the Warehouse
• Monitor closely the stored material, tools and consumables with the yard manager to avoid any shortage
• Prepare schedule for the installation activities
• Monitor installation activities with the OCS superintendent / site supervisor
• Plans and coordinates site activities with Safety and Quality departments to ensure applicable procedure enforcement
• Plan and coordinate site activities with other sub-systems construction representatives to avoid/minimize installation conflicts (clashes)
• Support site team for all design and technical related queries
• Initiate Non-Conformity Report through Aconex when required
• Monitor non-conformity and is responsible for closing it within the allowed timeframe
• Perform site quantity take offs
• Establish the daily progress report and other related reports, inspect documents which relate to site activities
• Participate actively in the monthly cost control for the OCS budget and in the OCS budget reviews under the authority of the package manager
• Report any close call, incident or accident to the safety department and the line management
• Actively represent the company in a professional manner at all times by providing clear on-site communication / clear understandable work reports / regular communication with the concerned parties responsible for timely escalation of any issues or occurrences
• Other duties assigned by Package Manager
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or similar field from an Accredited Institution, or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience will be considered
• 3-5 years of demonstrated self-performing experience in construction field, on large, complex, heavy civil transportation projects (roads and highways, bridges, bridge and tunnel, rail and transit)
• Demonstrated understanding of basic engineering and concrete construction concepts, practices, and procedures
• Good command of all Microsoft Office tools & AutoCad
• Good communication skills, ability to plan and organize daily activities, action-oriented, high ability to analyze and resolve problems, ability to perform under pressure and able to be flexible and adapt to dynamic environments
• Ability to negotiate the terrain of an in-process construction site, including climbing stairs and ladders, steep/ slippery terrain, walking, and working outdoors in all types of Edmonton weather and conditions
