Mission
The City of Edmonton selected Marigold Infrastructure Partners to design and build the 14-kilometre Valley Line West LRT project from downtown to Lewis Farms. Construction began in 2021. Marigold is a design-build joint venture agreement between Colas and Parsons. We are looking to hire a Systems Assurance Manager for Light Rail Transit (LRT) who will be responsible for ensuring the integrity, safety, and reliability of all systems and subsystems within the LRT framework. This role involves implementing quality assurance processes, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while working collaboratively with various teams to enhance operational efficiency and safety.
Main Responsibilities
Systems Assurance Strategy:
• Develop and implement a comprehensive systems assurance strategy to ensure the reliability and safety of LRT systems, including signalling, communication, power supply, and vehicle operations.
• Establish performance metrics and benchmarks for evaluating system effectiveness.
Compliance and Regulation:
• Ensure all systems and operations comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as industry standards and best practices.
• Stay informed about changes in regulations and standards that may impact LRT operations and systems.
Quality Assurance Processes:
• Design, implement, and oversee quality assurance and quality control processes for system components and operational procedures.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess adherence to established protocols and identify areas for improvement.
Risk Management:
• Identify potential risks related to system performance and safety, developing mitigation strategies to address these risks proactively.
• Lead investigations into incidents and system failures to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
Collaboration and Communication:
• Work closely with engineering, operations, maintenance, and safety teams to ensure effective communication and collaboration in systems assurance efforts.
• Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies, contractors, and stakeholders regarding systems assurance matters.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
• Analyze performance data and incident reports to identify trends, areas of concern, and opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on systems assurance activities, findings, and recommendations.
Training and Development:
• Develop and deliver training programs to promote systems assurance awareness and best practices among staff.
• Mentor and guide team members in quality assurance and systems management principles.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Transportation, Safety Management, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems assurance, quality assurance, or safety management in the transportation industry, preferably in light rail or transit operations.
• Strong knowledge of systems engineering principles, risk management practices, and regulatory compliance standards.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Professional certification in Quality Assurance or Safety Management (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma, etc.).
• Experience with incident investigation and root cause analysis methodologies.
