Job Description:
We are seeking a reliable and organized Storekeeper to join our team. The Storekeeper will be responsible for managing inventory, ensuring that goods are stored safely, and maintaining accurate records of stock. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and record incoming goods and materials.
- Organize and store items in appropriate locations to facilitate easy access and retrieval.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, including stock levels, product descriptions, and expiry dates.
- Perform regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical counts and inventory records.
- Assist in the preparation of inventory reports and provide data for stock replenishment decisions.
- Ensure the storage area is clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations.
- Handle damaged or expired goods according to company policies.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient supply chain management.
- Prepare items for dispatch, ensuring they are packaged securely and labeled correctly.
- Assist with the training of new staff in inventory management procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in inventory management or warehouse operations is a plus.
- Proven experience as a storekeeper or in a similar role.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in inventory management software.
- Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks as required.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
