Job Summary:

Supports accounting and project management teams through coordination of preparation, tracking, and execution of construction contracts, including project document management, job-cost accounting, and maintenance of related records.

Main Responsibilities:

•    Embrace the Company’s safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Safety Steering and Continuous Improvement teams
•    Support, promote, and practice the Company core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies
•    Creates, reviews, and maintains accurate records related to the contract process in accordance with established record-keeping requirements; maintains related files; enters data into external and internal systems
•    Reviews and compiles information from project management and estimating team to complete job set-up in accounting and project-management systems and related databases
•    Performs initial review of contracts to ensure compliance with Company standards related to key considerations such as payment and general liability terms
•    Ensures compliance with contract record-keeping, reporting, and procedural requirements governed by local, state, and/or federal entities
•    Maintains insurance and tax information provided by subcontractors; ensures subcontractor status meets requirements
•    Maintains and distributes documentation related to lien notices, waivers, and other certifications
•    Maintains change order documentation and related records
•    Regularly communicates with internal staff, subcontractors and/or job owner representatives to obtain and provide information
•    Reviews requests and coordinates subcontractor payments; obtains necessary approvals 
•    Obtains documentation and completes steps necessary for job close-out in accordance with contract requirements
•    Assists with processing of customer credit applications
•    Assists with Accounts Receivable processing, including billing and payment follow-up
•    Coordinates and compiles information necessary for internal and external audits 
•    Maintains, generates, and distributes reports and other documents as required
•    Completes projects and other related duties as assigned 

 

Education:

•    Bachelor’s degree in construction management, business, accounting, or related discipline; or equivalent combination of education/experience preferred
•    Valid drivers’ license and ability to maintain a clean motor vehicle record required

Skills:

•    3-5 years of experience providing contract support in construction or similar industry preferred
•    Some knowledge of basic accounting principles
•    Ability to read and interpret contract and bid documents, and accounting reports
•    Ability to effectively interpret and present data and information 
•    Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and exercise sound judgement and decision-making
•    Ability to maintain confidentiality and interact professionally with representatives inside and outside the Company
•    Proficiency in use of Microsoft office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; ability to learn organization’s database, content management system, and other software as needed

 

Physical Requirements:

•    Regularly required to use hands to feel, handle and manipulate objects, write, use a keyboard and/or mobile device
•    Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear), and perform tasks requiring visual acuity
•    Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, or crouch
•    Frequently required to sit for long periods at a desk using a computer
•    May be required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
•    May be required to travel occasionally with overnight stays away from home
•    Wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by company safety guidelines

 

Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation*: $27-$30 DOE

 

*Estimated target starting compensation; actual compensation to be determined based on assessment of an individual’s qualifications, education, and experience relevant to the role.
