Job Summary
- Provide safe and efficient traffic management at road construction worksites.
Main Responsibilities
- Promote safe work practices and an excellent safety culture
- Participates in pre-shift safety huddles
- Set-up and take down temporary work zones safely and efficiently
- Optimize traffic control in and around work zones (Flagging) crafting a safe environment for traffic and onsite workers
- Responsible for reporting incidents and accidents to supervisor or management
- Maintain an open line of communication with team members to promote team productivity and safety
- Responsible to report to superintendent / Foreman of any potential safety hazards
- Erect and remove delineating devices such as barrels and cones
- Assist in backing and dumping of triaxles and milling machines
Education
- High school diploma or GED
Skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with peers
- Ability to perform tasks as given from supervisors as well as work as part of a team
- Safety conscious
- Aware of flagging guidelines and procedures
- Must take flagger training and obtain flagger certification
Physical Requirements
- Required to work in various weather conditions
- This position works near live traffic on jobsites and requires employees to be safety conscious at all times
- Requires standing and or walking for long periods of time
- Requires use of arms, legs, hands, fingers
